Reiki Session Details
Each session will last for one hour, including around 5-10 minutes of discussion with Jess at the beginning to go over areas of concern in the body and/or mind, about 45-50 minutes of Reiki healing, and 5-10 minutes at the end to discuss the session.
Sessions are priced at $75. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available to people who identify with historically marginalized populations (Black, Indigenous, people of color, trans, nonbinary, or living with disability) or who are experiencing financial hardship. I also consider trades with other bodyworkers or artists. Any requests for trade or sliding scale must be made in your initial inquiry to book.
During a session Jess will rest or hover her hands on areas of physical concern and/or on primary energy centers in the body (chakras), which correspond to areas along the vagus nerve. You remain clothed while lying on a soft massage table with smoothing music playing. Conversation during the session is usually minimal but you and Jess have the freedom to talk as much as you need to discuss comfort, safety, and ongoing consent.
What is Reiki healing?
Reiki is a healing practice that originated in Japan, known for its soothing yet powerful approach to fostering physical, emotional, and spiritual health. It is based on the idea that a universal life force energy flows through all living things, and Reiki practitioners can channel this energy to stimulate the body’s innate healing processes. The term "Reiki" means "universal life energy.”
Reiki is NOT a substitute for medical or psychological healthcare. Jess is not a licensed doctor or therapist, and cannot diagnose medical or psychological conditions, prescribe medication, or offer evidence based treatment. Reiki is complimentary to treatment from a licensed doctor or mental health professional and may improve the body’s natural healing abilities through relaxation and stress reduction.
About your practitioner…
Jess Allen
Seemingly out of the blue, and in a moment of desperation for a new healing tool, I joined a Reiki certification program in November 2024 at The Heart Center for Awakening, located in White Center, King County. Under the direction of Reiki Master Faith Marie Macauley I earned a level 1 & 2 certification to practice Usui Holy Fire Reiki. Reiki has become a critical tool in how I resource myself and promote wellbeing in my body, and I am delighted to share this practice with others who are feeling called to experience it.
